Bridal Shower at Gramercy Terrace
Last Spring I was honored to work on the decor and florals for a bridal shower here in NYC at Gramercy Terrace. Bash, Please, based in LA, planned the shower with their LA-based client. We used shades of purple to bring some pretty spring color to the Gramercy Terrace. Accented with black and white stripes and personalized details, the shower was a perfect representation of the bride-to-be.
I kept the floral arrangements simple by using only two types of quintessential spring blooms: lilacs and hellebores. The black ceramic vases were a fun contrast to the custom designed and printed little heart napkins. My textile design background always finds a way to sneak itself into every event I design. Each guest’s seat was decorated with a laser cut place card, a pretty ribbon that mirrored the invitations, and lavender wine glasses.
The bride’s favorite food is nutella. I wish we were best friends. We had a custom illustration done of the bride eating nutella in her veil (seriously, scroll down to see the cutest thing ever) printed onto gift bags. Inside the bags, was jars of nutella with personalized labels and stamped nutella spoons.
Her love for candy was seen again in a black and white candy buffet favor table for guests. People, candy buffets are the best. Everyone loves candy. I don’t care if they are trendy, or were trendy, or whatever. I had a candy buffet at my wedding and that was 7 1/2 years ago. Anything that lasts for that long is in it for the long haul. Candy forever!
