Modern NYC Wedding at Tribeca Rooftop

I’m biased, but NYC is the best place to get married. Molly and Andrew’s wedding is the perfect example of a quintessential Manhattan affair that was designed to be modern with unexpected details. With Lemon & Lime Events on planning and design, we created hip, contemporary florals and decor to decorate their wedding at Tribeca Rooftop. As you scroll down to experience their event, you can see that every detail was carefully thought out to be crisp, speak to NYC, and in a tight black and white color palette.

Laser cut gold monograms greeted each guest as they sat down. The tables were draped with either stripes, sequins, or metallic gold linens. The head table, which we designed to be the showpiece in the room, held a 36′ long elevated arrangement of bright greens, ranunculus, hydrangea, and garden roses. A top tip on elevated arrangements: make them high enough for your guests to see under them and you’ll avoid the problem of not being able to talk across the table. Height is your friend, especially in rooms such as Tribeca Rooftop that have extremely high ceilings.

Molly and Andrew’s wedding was featured on Brides.

Marie Antoinette inspired photoshoot

A few of my favorite shots by the incredible Judy Pak of a Marie Antoinette photoshoot that I decorated and styled. Yes, those desserts tasted as good as they looked!! Big City Little Sweets are genius.

Did someone say floral crown?! I mean, seriously! Barbara’s Flowers knocked this one out. of. the. park.

See more over on Style Me Pretty! And when I say “more”, I mean, much, much more.

A Practical Wedding book tour: Brooklyn party

I was honored to do the design and decorations for the Brooklyn stop on Meg’s A Practical Wedding book tour. First, you guys have been following along on this tour, right? I certainly hope so, because the awesomest thing since candy-by-the-lb stores. By Amtrak, Meg is traveling the country speaking about her amazing book (#1 in weddings! #3 in chemistry?) and chatting with all of us devoted readers.

The decorations I crafted up for the Brooklyn stop on her tour are some of my most favorite things I’ve made! There was a sparkly photobooth backdrop, drink stirrers topped with mini A Practical Wedding books, and garland adorned with the couples who’ve been featured as wedding graduates.

Meg and I hamming it up in the photobooth. Below are a selection of my favorite shots! See the rest on the Flickr stream.

Oh, and one of my favorite parts of the day, my family came! My mom, bro, sis, and soon-to-be baby niece looking hot:

Huge, giant, monster sized thanks to everyone who came out to party, eat cupcakes, and devour tacos with us! Above pictures taken by Amber Marlow and Hart & Sol West. Love those girls. Also, without La Vie En Rose Events, the party wouldn’t have went as smooth silk.

See a ton more photos over on A Practical Wedding.
