Metropolitan Building Wedding
Carrina and Adam were married at the Metropolitan Building in true, colorful, geometric fashion. Their modern NYC wedding featured a ceremony backdrop made of custom cut acrylic, edgy geometric invitations, and lots of texture in their florals. When we started on their event design, they referred to an installation that I created years ago for A Practical Wedding. It’s still one of my favorite projects to date! I’m so happy that it remains relevant after almost four years.
We used the same teal and seafoam color palette as a starting point. From there, I chose florals that worked with those hues, like succulents, airplants, and blue thistle. We do all of our graphic design for invitations in-house and kept the design quite literal to that hexagon backdrop.
With Bespoke Moments on planning and Katie Osgood on photography, this wedding at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City was full of personal details, pretty florals, and the geometric touches that we all love:
