HGTV x Benjamin Moore Color Project
HGTV came to me with an idea: to produce a lifestyle shoot that incorporated Benjamin Moore’s new 2017 trend colors in a way that shows readers how the paints could fit into a variety of places in their homes.
Do you always have flowers in your home? I know that I don’t. Which could be a side effect of “not taking your work home with you” or just as easily a smart decision with not that many surfaces in a small Brooklyn apartment that can hold flowers and Matchbox cars that are constantly whirling through the air courtesy of my almost-three year old boy. No flower is safe.
Although, if I DID want to decorate my home with flowers and if I DID repaint my walls with lush, saturated color from Benjamin Moore – then this is how the flowers would be styled. Monochromatic. It’s an easy, modern way to choose what blooms go in your home. This shoot I produced and designed is more on the conceptual side. I walked around the flower market meticulously matching the colors of nature to the color of a paint swatch. While you probably don’t carry a paint swatch of your walls in your purse, a good rule of thumb would be that red goes with red, pink goes with pink, blue with blue…so on and so forth.
So here you go my lovely people. Five of Benjamin Moore’s trend forecasted 2017 paint colors, five areas of your home, and five arrangements to liven up a space.
Tomato Tango + a dining room centerpiece
Dark Burgundy + an entryway
Pink Bliss + a bedside table
Midnight Navy + a front door wreath
Guacamole + outdoor planters
